Müllmail.com - FAQ

Question 1

What is a disposable email address or Müllmail?

Accepted Answer

A disposable email address lets you sign up for services, download files, or complete one-off registrations without handing over your real inbox. Müllmail.com offers three variants tailored to different needs:

- Regular Müllmail: the classic temp mail. No time limit, reusable anytime, and emails are kept for 3 days.
- 10 Minute Mail: auto-expires after 10 minutes. Perfect when you need a quick confirmation and want zero cleanup afterwards.
- Burner Email: lives as long as you want, but once you consciously 'burn' it, it is gone forever. Great when you are not sure how long you will need the address.

Question 2

Can others access my Müllmail?

Accepted Answer

Yes and no.
As long as you are using your Müllmail, no one else can use the same email. However, as soon as you use another email or leave the page, the email will be available to other users again after 15 minutes.

Question 3

Can I also send emails with Müllmail.com?

Accepted Answer

No.
Müllmail.com is intended exclusively for receiving emails, not for sending them, among other things to prevent misuse.

Question 4

Does the use of Müllmail.com cost anything?

Accepted Answer

No.
Using Müllmail.com is free and will remain free.

Question 5

How long will my Müllmail remain active?

Accepted Answer

It depends on which type you use:

- Regular Müllmail: no expiry. The address stays available and you can return to it anytime. Only the emails in it expire after 3 days.
- 10 Minute Mail: automatically expires after 10 minutes. You can extend it manually in +10 minute increments as many times as you need, but only while the timer is still running.
- Burner Email: no automatic time limit. The address stays active until you consciously 'burn' (permanently delete) it yourself.

Tip: Bookmark your favourite Müllmail address so you can return to it even faster!

Question 6

How long do emails remain stored?

Accepted Answer

We store your emails for 3 (three) days, but you have the option to delete an email earlier yourself.
Note: Deleted emails are irrevocably deleted and cannot be recovered by us. Please save any information you need before deleting it.

Question 7

Does Müllmail.com send spam emails?

Accepted Answer

No, quite the opposite: We have made it our mission to protect you and especially your private email address from spam mails - should you nevertheless receive a spam mail from one of our addresses, it is not from us and the sender is fake.

Question 8

What is the difference between regular Müllmail, 10 Minute Mail, and Burner Email?

Accepted Answer

Müllmail.com offers three types of temporary email, each suited to a different situation:

- Regular Müllmail - the classic disposable inbox. No time limit on the address itself; received emails are kept for 3 days and can be deleted manually at any time. Best for situations where you are not sure how long you will need access.
- 10 Minute Mail - auto-deletes after 10 minutes. Ideal for quick verifications (download links, one-time codes, sign-up confirmations) where you know you will be done in seconds. Can be extended manually in +10 minute steps while still active.
- Burner Email - no automatic expiry, but when you decide you are done, you 'burn' it with a single click. The address, its inbox, and all messages are then permanently and irrevocably destroyed. Perfect when you need the flexibility of an open-ended address but want a clean, definitive end.

Question 9

What happens after I burn my Burner Email?

Accepted Answer

Once you burn your Burner Email, the following happens immediately and cannot be undone:

- You will no longer receive any emails at that address.
- All messages already in the inbox become permanently inaccessible.
- The same address cannot be recreated - by you or by us.
- There is no recovery option.

In short: burning is final. Make sure you have saved anything you need before you click the burn button.

Question 10

Can I extend a 10 Minute Mail?

Accepted Answer

Yes. While your 10 Minute Mail is still active you can extend it by clicking the '+10 Minutes' button displayed below the countdown timer. Each click adds another 10 minutes, and you can do this as many times as you like. However, once the timer reaches zero and the address expires, extension is no longer possible - the inbox is deleted automatically at that point and a new address must be generated.
